The biggest story for this blog update is that I finally started inFamous, which has been sitting on my shelf for probably a year, now. I've gone from platforming and shooting lightning in Galaxy and SW:TFU to doing both at the same time in this game. I mentioned being kind of "meh" about it on the podcast, and after putting in a few more hours, I'm starting to like it a little more. I'm being as comically evil as I can possibly be. I push people around with my
The game does an odd thing where it sends you into the sewers to get through these very straight-forward platformy sections, only they're super duper easy; because Cole tends to suction onto whatever surface is nearby, it feels like a three-year-old could blow through those sections. I would actually appreciate a little more of a challenge there, something more akin to the jumping puzzles in a Prince of Persia game. I do like Cole's Spider-Man act out in the open city, though. It makes getting to the rooftops a lot easier and pretty effortless. I also like his power line grind ability. That's just fun. The electric scatter grenades and the gound pound thing are cool, as well. Now that I think about it, Cole's powers have a lot in common with Starkiller's.
Apart from those two main things, I made just a little progress in The Witcher, moving into Chapter II. This is going to be a pretty long game. It's very good so far, though. I played a little more Bad Company 2 with Esteban after recording the podcast this weekend. I think it's still my favorite multiplayer shooter. I also went back to Super Mario Galaxy and got my star count up to 78 before shelving that game for a while to return to Monster Hunter Tri on on the Wii. I got in one good hunt online, taking down a Qurupeco with one other player, and getting my Hunter Rank to level 6. There's a lot left to do in that game, yet.

Have you applied for the Beta?
I'm going to wait for more impressions or to play the Beta myself before I decide whether I want to buy in. If I can't get into the Beta, then hopefully there'll be free 2 week trials or something.
What are you thinking? We should definitely get on the same server if we're both going to be playing at all...
I have not applied for the Beta. If it is PC only, I won't be able to participate since I currently use a MAC.
Yes, we should definitely plan to be on the same server if possible. I haven't played many MMOs (only the console version of EQ and FFXI) but I was so impressed with what was done in FFXI that I am pretty curious to see what they will do for the new version.
Back log plans: I was supposed to have a gaming extravaganza this weekend. I took yesterday and today off of work because I maxed out my vacation hours and needed to use them or I would lose them. Turns out I caught a damn cold on Tuesday night and haven't really felt like gaming much. I'm doing better today and am trying to decide if I should focus on finishing Mario Galaxy 2 or just do my usual, play a little of this and a little of that. I'm thinking I should finish MG2.
If you don't mind a minor spoiler, here's some footage of me barely beating the World 1 Boss in Mario Galaxy 2.

That's cool. What do you use to record the Wii feed?
I'm using the Slingbox Pro-HD, which as the name indicates, should allow me to record in HD. However, 6 months after purchase, I am still waiting for the HD update for Macs. If I had a PC, I could record in HD right now.
Anyway, the footage gets "slung" to my MacBook Pro and then I capture with a cheap program called Screenflick. I haven't figured out how to put in my own music yet but that is certainly something I was thinking of doing eventually. I had to cut out the sound on the Mario boss battle since I was listening to a podcast at the time and did not realize that would also get recorded on top of the game sound track.
Yeah I think went Star Wars then Infamous as well, because I wanted something else that had force powers.
Similarly I'm playing through Dead Space and it's making me want to go back and finish Bioshock. They both do atmosphere and story progression pretty well.
Hey Count, you need to see this:

Looks like Crackdown 2 will be a real disappointment, especially for those who played the original.
Yeah, I saw that. It looks like a re-vamp more than a full-fledged new game. It's like something you might play instead of replaying the original, like how every 10 years when you want to play Monopoly for some reason you just go to the store and get whatever the newest version is.
I don't know that I care to play it, since I'm getting kind of bored with big open city games, but I got the original for $12 used, so maybe I'll do the same here.
