Crusade Incursion - Behind Enemy Lines
I played this mission at 30 PL per side, so fairly small forces.
The Battlefield. I tend to make them roughly even in terms of terrain distribution for either deployment zone.

This is my UI. RED Corsairs left, WHITE Scars right. VP on the outside, CP on the inside. Round counter center. Red was attacker (6 vs 4). White began deployment first.
Red Corsairs are starting with +1 CP from their Legion Trait, and +2 from Crusade Blessings
Deployments. Everything hidden behind cover, naturally.
Scars win roll off, choose to go second.
Red Corsairs Turn 1.
Exalted Champion advances to the left, near gray-based CSM squad.
Gray CSM squad move.
Contemptor advances.
Brown CSM squad advance
Gray CSM squad shoot at bikers in cover.
8 bolter shots, nada.
Heavy bolter, 2 wounds (bikers have 3 now).
Endless Cacophony stratagem, that unit shoots again.
Wounded Biker dies.
Brown CSMs charge rhino.
Need 8, get 6, reroll, 12!
They wrap the rhino.
Contemptor also tries the charge. needs 10. 7.
CSMs fight the rhino. 3 Power Fist swings, 3 successful 6+ saves. woah.
Other 9 CSMs swing, one wound gets done.
Rhino fights back. 1 hit, no wound.
Bikers pass morale.
White Scars turn 1.
Devastator doctrine.
Rhino does not self-repair.
Librarian moves over to fight off CSM.
Bikers same.
Tac Squad hop out of rhino for same.
Smite on CSMs. 2 wounds, so 2 die because they still only have a single wound.
Storm-Wreathed on Tac Squad.
Lib bolt pistol shoots. nada.
Tac Squad shoots. 2 CSM die.
Rhino Storm Bolter. 1 CSM dies.
Bike Squad shooting. 2 more die.
Tac Squad charge. need 6. 7.
Librarian charges. fails. reroll. success.
Bikers charge.
Bikers fight. 1 CSM dies.
Counter Offensive, CSM fight Librarian. nada.
Tac Squad pile in, fight. 9th CSM dies.
Librarian fights. Finishes off the CSM squad.
End of round, both sides get 5 VP (no one exfiltrated)
Red Corsairs turn 2
Exalted Champion advances laterally to support Contemptor
CSM squad goes with
Contempor moves up
Contemptor shoots combi-bolter into tac squad. 1 marine dies.
Kheres Assault Cannon at bikers. 1 wound scored.
Contemptor charges bikers. needs 5. 7.
Contemptor fights, kills the bike squad.
Consolidates into Tac Squad.
Tac Squad fights. nada.
White Scars turn 2.
Tactical Doctrine.
Rhino self-repairs back to full.
Tac Squad fall back from Contemptor.
Librarian repositions near them.
Devastators hop out of the rhino.
rhino moves up to block CSM progress.
Smite on Contemptor. loses one wound.
Storm-Wreathed on Tac Squad.
Rhino HKM at Contemptor. Does 5 wounds, nice.
Rhino Storm Bolter also kills a CSM.
Devastators shoot Contemptor. Kill it. Does not explode.
Tac Squad charge CSM. need 9. fail.
CSM pass Morale.
End of round 2, both sides score 5 VP.
Red Corsairs turn 3.
Rhino in the way, Have to turn back.(Actually, I now realize they could have walked around it, since I was playing ruins as Breachable)
Going over the building just leaves them open to shooting.
Both the CSM and Exalted Champion advance back the other way.
White Scars turn 3.
Tac Squad hop in the Rhino.
Rhino drives over to get an angle on CSMs.
Librarian flys to within 18” of Exalted Champion to Smite.
Devastators move, then advance also using Wind-Swift. They just can’t shoot now.
Smite Exalted Champion. 1 wound.
Rhino Storm Bolter at CSM. nada.
End of round, 5 VP each.
Red Corsairs turn 4.
Nothing to do but book it toward the exit.
White Scars turn 4.
Devastators advance to the exit and so have to wait to do the leave action.
Librarian moves to the exit and does the leave action.
Tac squad hop out of the rhino to engage the CSM.
Rhino storm bolter into CSM. nada.
Tac Squad shoots CSM. 2 die.
rhino charges CSM. success.
tac squad charge CSM. success.
Exalted Champion Intervenes.
Death to the Traitors! on Tac Squad. (exploding 6s)
4 chainsword attacks become 5, all hit. 3 wound. 2 are saved, 1 heretic dies.
Other marines fight, 6 attacks become 8, 6 hit, 4 wound. 3 saved, another heretic dies.
Rhino fights. nada.
Exalted Champion fights Tac Squad.
Kills them all with his relic The Black Mace.
Consolidates into the Rhino.
CSM fight rhino. 1 wound.
Fury of Khorne on Exalted Champion (he fights again).
Destroys the Rhino with 10 damage from The Black Mace. Does not explode.
White Scars score:
5 VP for Line Breaker.
Librarian exfiltrates, scoring 12 VP.
5 VP for Hold Them Back.
Red Corsairs turn 5.
Exalted Champion and CSM squad exfiltrate for 26 VP
Line Breaker for 5 more.
46 total.
White Scars turn 5.
Devastators exfiltrate for 16 VP
53 total.
WS win.
One exfiltrated unit gets a battle trait of choice
Devastators get Veteran Warriors, for rerolls of 1 to hit.
