Incursion 4 - Recon Patrol
Deployment in table quarters, four objective points, secondary objective to reconnoiter each table quarter. This is an action any unit can begin first thing in the movement phase, completed at the end of the turn.
The mission requires at minimum half your number of units be deployed as Strategic Reserves (free of cost). To bring them into the game in the first or second rounds, each unit must roll a 4+.

Primaris Psyker, Platoon Commander, Commissar, two Chimeras and Infantry Squads
Rhino with Tactical Squads, Assault Squad, Lieutnant.

Deployments
Scouts on the other objective this side of the board. The terrain in a square arrangement in the middle is obscuring area terrain, so the Terminators could be shot, or shoot out into the Infantry Squad.
The Russ is deployed on top of an objective point with the Sentinel Agenda to be near it at the end of the game.
A thought occurred to me as I was mulling over deployment. Should we pretend the battlefield edges don’t exist for the purposes of large models being deployed? The battlefield sizes are minimums, after all. Why not just say the field is as big as necessary for your large model to be deployed and still be able to act in the first turn?

Psyker Smites Lt. for 2.
Platoon Commander orders Steel Legion to move move move,
they advance 12” further.
Company Commander orders Mordians to shoot after having fallen back, and to reroll wound rolls of 1.
Commander orders Vostroyans to reroll 1s to hit and wound.
Commander orders self to reroll 1s to hit.
Vostroyans fail to wound Scouts.

Chimera shoots a wound of Lt.

due to their -1 to hit and 3++ this turn. Multi-meltas and Lascannon also fail.
Lt Intervenes 6” (due to a battle honour) putting him much closer
to the Psyker.

Biker Sgt Reconnoiters enemy deployment.
Terminators move close to Steel Legion.
Scouts also reposition to aim at Steel Legion.
Lt. advances 18” right up to Mordians and the tank.
Assault Squad in from reserves on a 4+. They have to set
up in a weird spot with no LoS.
Scouts shoot and kill 1 Steel Legion.
Terminators shoot and kill the rest. Cull the Hordes
agenda scored.
Lt. Flamers away the remaining Mordians.
TFC only gets 5 shots, scores 2 wounds on the Vostroyans, leaving only one left.
Lt. uses Fierce Rivalries for a 3D6 drop one charge. he
needs 8” to reach Company Commander.
Commander Overwatches. nada.

Assault Squad looking for an 11 to charge. nope.

Terminators finish off Vostroyans finally.

Very near enemy since entering from own edge.
Psyker Smites for D6 on biker Sgt. 3 Mortals kils him.
Chimera B all into Lt. Kills him.
Tank all into Terminators in combat with it. Kills one,
with the lascannon lol. Punisher and multi-meltas mostly miss due to hitting on
5s (-1 to hit on heavy at target in engagement range) Terminators fight the
tank, deal it 4 wounds.
Tank fights and misses.

Terminators fall back from the tank toward Command Squad
and commanders.
Rhino comes in from reserves with two 5-man tac squads
inside.
Rhino misses with Storm Bolter and HKM.
Terminators shoot (via strat) and kill 3/4 of the Command
Squad.
Assault Squad charge Platoon Commander.
Terminators charge Company Commander, who overwatches,
overcharging plasma pistol, killing a terminator.

Chimera A shoots heavy bolters at tac squad but no damage

Kasrkin Squad split fire, kill one Tac Marine. Fail vs
Terminator.
Tallarn Raiders shoot Terminator. No luck whatsoever.
Russ has no target but the single Term. It survives Las
and Meltas and the 1st volley of 20 from the Punisher cannon. 2nd volley scores
exactly 2 wounds for the kill.

units in final quadrant can’t reconnoiter as they are in
combat.
Second 5-man Tac squad hop out of Rhino.
Rhino falls back.
Tac Squad in combat with Chimera falls back. Strat so
they can shoot.

Scouts shoot Russ with one shotgun in range. No effect.
Tac Squad A melta into Chimera A. Destroys it. Explodes.
